Love Like the Ocean

Thank you, God, that your love is like the ocean:

Your love is constant, like wave after wave that are steady and sure. Your love never ends.

Sometimes it’s reckless, knocking me down like a tidal wave. Sometimes it is calmer, wooing me peacefully.

Your love heals my wounds, especially the hurts in my heart, just like the salty ocean water heals skin wounds.

Your love is deep like the deepest parts of the ocean.

Your love is endless like looking out over the horizon, as far as I can see.

Your love is fresh and new, never stale. It’s like the constant change of fresh waves with the tide.

Your love is fierce, refreshing, and full, like the ocean too.

Your love brings joy like dolphins jumping over the waves.

Your love restores like the pink and orange sunrise dawns over the horizon with a new day.

Your love doesn’t give up, just like the constant churning of the tides and the making of the sands. It doesn’t fail or ever stop.

Your love is beautiful like the pristine beaches and the emerald green waters.

Your love brings praise, it invokes courage, and it ignites a response like jumping into the surf and riding the waves.

Your love holds my hand and goes with me like the undertow tickles and pulls my feet forward.

Your love is sweet yet salty, perfect to my taste. Sometimes it is overpowering or disciplines me like a mouth full of salt water.

Your love is pure like the purity of the ocean. It echoes the simplicity of the water and is profound like the ocean too.

Your love is the best, God!! Thank you for sending me Jesus because you love me so much! And thank you, God, for this analogy, like a love letter straight to my soul.

Praise the Lord from the earth,
    you great sea creatures and all ocean depths,
 lightning and hail, snow and clouds,
    stormy winds that do his bidding,
 you mountains and all hills,
    fruit trees and all cedars,
 wild animals and all cattle,
    small creatures and flying birds,
 kings of the earth and all nations,
    you princes and all rulers on earth,
